Meet Crosby,

The 2011 Bear of the Show donated by Michelle Lamb of One & Only Bears. This Bundle of perfection has been adopted like all the other special bears of the 2011 Charity Auction. Crosby has not only found a wonderful home but doing his part to help Bears That Care raise much needed funds. Thank you Michelle and all the wonderful talented artists who donate their time and creative art to help us.

What is "The Bears That Care"

Welcome to the 2012 Bears That Care Charity Online Show of national and international hand-crafted bears in support of Ovcare - an ovarian cancer research, education and awareness program.


The original “Bears That Care” Charity Auction began in the late 90’s and was established for the benefit of research, education and awareness of women’s gynaecological cancers.  After some years in hibernation, our bears returned  in 2010 and 2011 to support of the ongoing work of the Ovcare Research Team.


In 2012, in keeping with the increase in consumer traffic online, it was decided this years Bears That care event should be an online show - the proceeds from the bears sold online going to Ovcare.

Why we do it
  • Ovarian cancer is the most lethal of all gynaecological cancers
  • 230,000 women worldwide will be diagnosed with this disease
  • ONE out of every TWO women who develop this disease will not survive
  • Unlike breast and cervical cancers, there is NO screening test for the early detection of ovarian cancer
