Eddie Bears by Edwina Atkin (nee Reynolds)
I am a 30(something) full-time mum of two gorgeous girls - aged 2 and 3. We live in Western Sydney, but I'm originally from Young and try to get home as much as I can. I made my first bear (while studying psychology at Charles Sturt University) in 1999 from a purchased pattern, synthetic fur and vinyl (paw pads), it was a gift for my mum. Since then I have been creating my own style and patterns and have moved onto mohair and ultra-suede (paw pads). I love using brightly coloured mohair and prefer a shorter pile length, I think it gives the bears a bit of personality. My brother came up with the name "Eddie Bears" for my bears a long time ago - and that is the name I have stuck with for them. I love creating every new bear and seeing him/her come to life as I do the finishing touches. It gives me great pleasure to see or hear how much a person loves their new "Eddie Bear" because I really do make them to be loved.
